Definition*. (Tu11, pp. 34) The cotangent space to ${\mathbb{R}}^n$ at $p$, denoted by $T_p^{\ast }({\mathbb{R}}^n)$, is defined to be the dual space $(T_p({\mathbb{R}}^n){)}^{\vee }$ of the Euclidean tangent space $T_p({\mathbb{R}}^n)$.
